Comfort and trust
At the beginning of the year we often look ahead. The months ahead of us will be filled with expected and unexpected events. Although we live in a new year, we still carry everything that happened in the years before with us. Both the happy things and also the sad things. The idea of a cycle is something that frequently appears in the Bible. Just look at the rhythm of the days and the seasons. Standing at the beginning of a new year invites us to both comfort and trust. Comfort, because of the difficult things that have happened, but also trusting in the hope of new beginnings and the good times that will also come. Let this perspective be our focus in these first months of the year. Comforting God’s people and praying for trust in Him. He is always near, that is both a source of comfort and a source of trust.
