The BBC Promotes What It Previously Called ‘Conspiracy Theories’ to Smear Israel

editor 28 July 2018

By Hadar Sela.. On the morning of July 22, the IDF announced the completion of the overnight evacuation of 800 Syrian “White Helmets” personnel and their families from southern Syria through Israel into Jordan. The evacuation took place from Quneitra, which straddles the frontier with the Golan Heights and where the civil defense team was trapped. … The evacuees arrived at the border with Israel, and the IDF opened the gates and let them through. Medical treatment was provided to those in need, and the evacuees were provided with food and water. Rivlin asks Prince William to take ‘message of peace’ to Abbas

editor 2 July 2018

By Raphael Ahren.. It’s time the Palestinians understand that Jews have returned to their ancestral homeland, president tells visiting royal, adding, ‘We have to end the tragedy between us’. President Reuven Rivlin on Tuesday (June 26, 2018) asked visiting Prince William to convey to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas a “a message of peace.” Hosting the Duke of Cambridge in his official Jerusalem residence, Rivlin said the Palestinians need to accept that Jews have returned to their ancestral homeland and that it was about time Israelis and Palestinians end their conflict. The Prince and the President

editor 28 June 2018

By J-Wire Newsdesk.. Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin welcomed His Royal Highness Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge to the President’s Residence in Jerusalem, marking the first official visit to the State of Israel by a member of the British Royal Family. Prince William’s father, HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, had previously visited Israel for the funeral of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, and had also visited the President in his residence after attending the funeral of Israel’s former president, Shimon Peres. Prince William’s problematic visit to Israel

editor 26 June 2018

By Caroline Glick..Israel was established 70 years ago. But June 25 will be the first time the Jewish state has ever been the destination for a British royal visit. For 70 years, the British Royal family has boycotted Israel and so refused to officially come to terms with its very existence. It isn’t that Israel has been completely overlooked. While Queen Elizabeth II, who has clocked more travel hours than any other British sovereign, has made a point never to step foot in Israel, her husband Prince Philip and her son Charles, the Prince of Wales, have come to Israel on private visits. Prince Charles attended the funerals of the late Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres on such “private” trips. Speech by the UK Foreign Secretary to the UN Human Rights Council

editor 20 June 2018

By Foreign & Commonwealth Office and The Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP.. Your Excellencies, Ladies and gentlemen, I want to begin on behalf of the UK by thanking High Commissioner Hussein for his service and for his tireless efforts for speaking up for human rights around the world. And I’m delighted to be here because, at its best, this Council has shone a spotlight on appalling violations of human rights in specific countries – as we’ve just heard – and given a voice to people who would otherwise have suffered in silence. Britain considers this Council to be part of the rules-based international system in which we believe and that we strive to protect. Livingstone Departure: Labour’s Cynical Totem

editor 6 June 2018

By Melanie Phillips.. Ken Livingstone has now resigned from the Labour party. So what? His departure will not lance the boil of Labour party antisemitism. First, Livingstone has still not resiled from his claim that Hitler supported Zionism, nor has he admitted to antisemitism; even today he has doubled down on his position. He used the standard excuse that he was resigning simply because he had become a “distraction” to Labour’s opposition to the government.  (more…)

In Wake of Livingstone Resignation, UK Jewish Groups and MPs Say More Needs to Be Done About Labour Antisemitism

editor 30 May 2018

By Benjamin Kerstein.. British Jewish leaders and MPs have hailed former London Mayor Ken Livingstone’s decision to resign from the Labour Party in the wake of a years-long antisemitism scandal. Livingstone — a prominent far-left figure once known as “Red Ken” — has a long history of anti-Israel statements, but ran into serious trouble in 2016 when he told an interviewer, “When Hitler won his election in 1932, his policy then was that Jews should be moved to Israel. He was supporting Zionism before he went mad and ended up killing six million Jews.” [Photo top right: Ken Livingstone. Photo credit: Wikimedia Commons].  (more…)

The Toxic Reality Of Antisemitism In Europe

editor 21 April 2018

By Melanie Phillips.. Antisemitism in Europe has become mainstream and normalized at a level “not seen since the Second World War.” So says the president of the European Jewish Congress, Dr. Moshe Kantor, who states: “There has been an increase in open, unashamed and explicit hatred directed against Jews.” It’s as if a veil lowered after the Holocaust has now been lifted to reveal that little has changed. Poland is seeking to deny its own history of antisemitism, with a new law criminalizing anyone who accuses Poland of having been complicit in the Nazi destruction of European Jewry. #EnoughisEnough

editor 20 April 2018

By J-Wire Newsdesk.. Malcolm Green says that this is the film he wishes he never made. Anti-semitism in the UK.

Or rather, the film I wish I’d never had to make. However, in the UK today, in some ‘pockets’ of our political system (rather large pockets it has to be said), antisemitism is making itself felt with a vengeance.

And whilst there is a lot of handwringing and tut-tutting going on, there is very little action to send this hatred back to the fringes and beyond. (more…)

The Sewer Of Left-Wing Anti-Semitism

editor 29 March 2018

By Melanie Phillips.. There was only one thing worse than the remarkable revelation of institutionalised antisemitism on the left revealed by David Collier on his website last week. It was the reaction.

Collier is an indefatigable blogger who spends much of his life immersed in the cesspools of anti-Jewish and Israel-bashing bigotry in British institutions. His aim is to bring the epidemic of open antisemitism to the attention of the wider public. He is positively heroic in subjecting himself to the traumatic effects of wading through all this filth. But last week he took his investigations onto a different level altogether. (more…)
