Israel: Covenants & Kingdom (48) – Chapter 6 – Kingdom and Covenants

editor 15 August 2018

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book “Israel: Covenants & Kingdom”

The divine ‘Untils’
Things on earth will not continue endlessly. There are no cyclic time concepts in the Bible, in which things keep going around in unending circles, repeating themselves perpetually. History is a straight line that stretches from Creation to Revelation. In the Bible there are several divine ‘Untils’. This is quite extraordinary, and comforting, meaning that a situation will continue and continue and continue… until something happens! Then things will change, and a new phase begin. Israel: Covenants & Kingdom (47) – Chapter 6 – Kingdom and Covenants

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book “Israel: Covenants & Kingdom”

The future Queen
In the previous chapter we saw that the resurrection body has the ability to move between the different eternal dimensions and our earthly reality, in the period between Jesus’ resurrection and ascension. Acts 1:3: “…He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the Kingdom of God, and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive…” [Picture top right: After many appearances to His disciples over 40 days, Jesus ascends to heaven. Acts 1:1-14 Contributed by LUMO project].  (more…)

editor 2 August 2018

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book “Israel: Covenants & Kingdom”

Introduction
When the angels announced the birth of Christ to the shepherds near Bethlehem, they praised God with shouts and song: “…Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favour rests…” (Luke 2:14). When the crowd welcomed Jesus to Jerusalem, they joyfully praised God and shouted: “…Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!…” (Luke19:38). editor 25 July 2018

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book “Israel: Covenants & Kingdom”

Not by human hands
Daniel the prophet gave his explanation of the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar as follows. Daniel 2:31-45: “…Your Majesty looked, and there before you stood a large statue – an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance. The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay. Israel: Covenants & Kingdom (44) – Chapter 5 – Church and Kingdom

editor 19 July 2018

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book “Israel: Covenants & Kingdom”

The Kingdom is coming
History has shown repeatedly what happens when people try to establish the kingdom on their own. ‘Liberty, equality, fraternity’ was the slogan of the French Revolution, but it ended in rivers of blood and the revolution devoured her own children. The communist revolution, advocated by Karl Marx, was supposed to lead inevitably to a utopian classless society. The upshot was tens of millions of casualties in Russia and China, and a totally impoverished and disintegrating society. Hitler intended to build a Third Reich, creating a kingdom of peace. Israel: Covenants & Kingdom (26) – Chapter 4 – God’s Love and Covenants with Israel

editor 17 May 2018

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book “Israel: Covenants & Kingdom”

Everlasting Covenants
The Covenants are to be taken literally as contracts between two parties. These Covenants are eternal, everlasting agreements with Israel that will therefore exist ‘forever’. God cannot change His mind halfway about them. All these Covenants are covered by a solemn oath, which the Lord Almighty swore by His own Name at the making of these Covenants with Israel. SILENCE… before the storm by Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer

editor 5 June 2014

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. “When he opened the seventh seal, there was SILENCE in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.”- Revelation 8:1-2.

The seventh seal of the scroll is broken. The scroll that – as a guardian-redeemer’s deed – contains the right of the lawful owner of heaven and earth. The lawful owner is the Creator of heaven and earth. (more…)

International Harmony Under the Messiah According Isaiah 2:1-4 (Part 1)

editor 25 December 2013

By Dr. Micheal J. Vlach.. I would like to offer a two-part entry on Isa 2:1-4, a passage that describes international peace among nations under the rule of Messiah in His kingdom. These conditions are not taking place in our present age but will when Jesus returns and sets up His kingdom.

Isaiah 2 addresses the coming kingdom and the roles of Israel and the nations in it. The message predicts international harmony among nations as a result of the Messiah’s reign. (more…)

The Coming Kingdom (5-10)

editor 29 November 2012

By Dr. Andy Woods.. Because today’s evangelical world largely believes that the church is presently experiencing the messianic kingdom, we began a study chronicling what the Bible teaches concerning this important issue of the kingdom. That there will be a future, messianic kingdom on earth has been revealed thus far through the divine intention to restore the office of Theocratic Administrator (Gen. 1:26-28) that was lost in Eden (Gen. 3). Likewise, the promise of a future, earthly, messianic reign was prophesied in the Abrahamic Covenant (Gen. 15) and related sub-covenants. (more…)

Focus on the future (6-12)

Rev. Willem Glashouwer 3 October 2012

What will happen in your life? What will happen on planet earth? There is one book that speaks very clearly about all of this and that book is the Bible. The greatest prophet that has ever been is Jesus Christ. And He speaks about that future. There is a beautiful chapter in the New Testament, Matthew 24, where He sums up all the things that will happen to planet earth, before He comes in glory! He is speaking of wars and rumours of wars, martyrdom, earthquakes, famine and lawlessness. He’s speaking of a dark period that will come over the planet that has never been there and after that never will be there again. But He has positive signs as well. (more…)
