Teaching My Son About Judaism—And Atheism

editor 3 December 2016

By Lauren Apfel.. When my son Oliver was 4, he found Jesus. He discovered him, with kind eyes and flowing hair, in the pages of one of the “early reader” reference books he used to trawl through at the library. As he had with stories of the ancient Greeks and Romans, Oliver became captivated by the Christian Bible. The Crucifixion scene especially caught his interest; this was the illustration to which he returned, over and over again, running his fingers lightly across Jesus’ wrists, where the nails and flesh met. Resurrection

editor 22 December 2015

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. Calabria – Italy is a wonderful place to be. The mountains, the villages, the seashore and the magnificent sunsets. The warmth and sometimes heat of this southern part of Italy during the daytime, and the cool breeze at night to cool you off. As in the whole of Italy Roman Catholicism is visibly present everywhere. Churches, crucifixes along the roads, statues of the Madonna. But on the high cliffs of Maratea there is another statue: Christ Risen. Like the huge statue of Christ at Rio the Janeiro – Brazil, this statue of over 20 metres high is visible from a long distance [Photo top right]. (more…)

The Land of Israel during the Kingdom Age

editor 22 January 2015

By Brian Keating.. Introduction One topic that Scripture mentions a great deal is the subject of: life in the next age. In essence, many passages in the Bible tell us that believers will live again, after Jesus returns. Not only that, but Scripture also tells us where believers will live, in the next age. (more…)

Did the US Play a Role in Israel’s Re-establishment?

editor 6 January 2015

By Dr. David R. Reagan Founder & Director, Lamb & Lion Ministries. The greatest miracle of the 20th Century was the re-establishment of the state of Israel. It was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, and the United States played a key role in that fulfillment. How have we interacted with the state of Israel since that time, and what does the Bible say about our future relationship? The Stars Of Bethlehem

editor 16 December 2014

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. What do the stars tell us? What message do we read in the firmament? Astrology was developed by Nimrod in Babel/Babylon – idolatry with the assistance of the firmament. But is there also another meaning to be derived from the firmament? What does that impressive universe, with its billions of stars and galaxies, tell us? (more…)

God Is No Liar

editor 4 December 2014

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. To conclude upon the crucifixion of Jesus that God changed His mind about His everlasting covenants with Israel, and made the Church into the new people of God, the ‘new or spiritual Israel’ – one will not find this expression anywhere in the Bible – simply is not true. And it is not just a theological misconception, but it is a sin before God. It makes God into a liar. And God is no liar. (more…)

3 Models of Israel’s Theological Significance

editor 16 October 2014

By Dr Micheal J. Vlach.. How do you view national Israel’s significance in the plan of God? The following are three models of Israel’s significance from a Christian perspective.

1. Replacement Model—The nation Israel no longer has theological significance in God’s plans, being permanently replaced as the people of God by the Christian church. Israel is a testimony to what happens to those who reject God.

Deafness and blindness

editor 2 October 2014

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. He said, “Go and tell this people: ” ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

It must have been a terrible assignment for Isaiah. After he saw the awesome vision of the Lord on His throne and survived it, Isaiah receives this assignment as a prophet. (more…)

SILENCE… before the storm by Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer

editor 5 June 2014

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. “When he opened the seventh seal, there was SILENCE in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.”- Revelation 8:1-2.

The seventh seal of the scroll is broken. The scroll that – as a guardian-redeemer’s deed – contains the right of the lawful owner of heaven and earth. The lawful owner is the Creator of heaven and earth. (more…)

Crisis in Syria and the Bible (Video)

editor 18 March 2014

By C4I International.. This week’s video at the top of this website needs some explanation. John 14 is part of what is traditionally called the Upper Room Discourse. These verses (Chapter 13 through 17) constitute Jesus’ final instructions to His disciples before His death.  In John 14:28 through 31 Jesus says the following (emphasis from the editor). (more…)
