American UN Envoy: No Country Would Act With More Restraint Than Israel Has in Gaza

editor 21 May 2018

By Algemeiner Staff.. A day after several dozen Palestinian rioters were killed in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip as they violently tried to storm across the border into Israel, America’s UN envoy voiced a strong defense of the Jewish state at a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday (May 15, 2018). Ambassador Nikki Haley said:

“Hamas has attacked the Kerem Shalom crossing, the biggest entry point in Gaza for fuel, food, and medical supplies. This is how determined they are to make the lives of the Palestinian people miserable. They light Molotov cocktails attached to kites on fire and attempt to fly them into Israel to cause as much destruction as possible. When asked yesterday why he put a swastika on his burning kite, the terrorist responded, ‘The Jews go crazy when you mention Hitler.’ This is what is endangering the people of Gaza. Make no mistake: Hamas is pleased with the results from yesterday. I ask my colleagues here in the Security Council, who among us would accept this type of activity on your border? No one would. No country in this chamber would act with more restraint than Israel has.” [Photo top right: US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley. Photo: Reuters / Lucas Jackson].

Hamas Co-Founder: Calling Gaza Riots ‘Peaceful Resistance’ Is ‘Deceiving the Public’

editor 21 May 2018

By Shiri Moshe.. A senior Hamas leader said on Sunday that recent Palestinian riots on the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip were backed by the Islamist group’s fighters and weapons. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Hamas co-founder Mahmoud al-Zahhar called allegations that the terrorist group was employing “peaceful resistance” against Israel “a clear terminological deception.” [Photo top right: Hamas co-founder Mahmoud Al-Zahhar speaks in an interview with Al-Jazeera on May 13, 2018. The Media War on Palestinian Agency

editor 18 May 2018

By Sohrab Ahmari.. Palestinian Arabs are human beings, which means they are possessed of free will, agency, and the natural capacity to reason like any other people. This basic, incontestable anthropological reality needs to be frequently restated today since our media and foreign-policy establishment has apparently concluded the opposite. The latest media assault on Palestinian agency came Monday (May 14, 2018), as Israelis celebrated the relocation of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, while Palestinians attempted to infiltrate en masse the barrier fence that separates the Jewish state from the terrorist-run Gaza Strip to the south. The Conflict in Gaza: Three Ways to View It

editor 18 May 2018

By Brig.-Gen. (res.) Yossi Kuperwasser.. The hostile activities carried out by Hamas and other Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip should be interpreted on three levels. Unfortunately, many conflate and obfuscate the complexity surrounding the issue, by mixing them. First, the “March of Return” should be seen for its real purpose – it is a declaration by the Palestinians that they are not ready to change the goals of their struggle, namely the annihilation of Israel and replacing it with a Palestinian state. U.S. Envoy Greenblatt: Hamas Has Taken Gaza Back To The Stone Age

editor 15 May 2018

By Jason Greenblatt..All parties interested in bringing change to Gaza need to face the reality that Hamas has failed its own people. As Hamas continues to exploit protests to foment violence against Israel, finding a way to help the people of Gaza in any meaningful way becomes more and more challenging. All parties interested in bringing change to Gaza need to face the reality that Hamas has failed its own people. 220 Airstrikes on Palestinians; World Yawns

editor 2 May 2018

By Khaled Abu Toameh.. Dropping barrels of dynamite on houses and hospitals in a Palestinian refugee camp is apparently of no interest to those who pretend to champion Palestinians around the world. Nor does the issue seem to move the UN Security Council. UNRWA said that of the estimated 438,000 Palestine refugees remaining inside Syria, more than 95% (418,000) are in critical need of sustained humanitarian assistance. How Hamas exploits the people of Gaza: Protests clarify their cynical tactics

editor 28 April 2018

By Dennis Ross.. Hamas has never put the people of Gaza first. Hamas rejects Israel’s existence and treats all of the land as an Islamic trust. The Palestinian people are instruments in the struggle to reclaim it. For the struggle, for the cause, the people can be sacrificed. Why else would Hamas build tunnels to protect its weapons and its fighters but not its people during conflict with Israel? Why else, when Gazans desperately needed reconstruction, would its leaders divert short supplies of cement, electric wiring and iron away from badly needed housing construction to build the tunnels? Myths and facts about Gaza’s ‘march of return’

editor 17 April 2018

By Tzvi Fleischer.. The Strategist – 17 April 2018

The demonstrations along the Israel–Gaza border dubbed the ‘Great March of Return’ are a calculated and desperate propaganda move, largely organised and funded by Hamas alongside other terrorist organisations. Hamas, which has ruled Gaza since 2007, is designated in part or entirely a terrorist organisation by the United States, the European Union and Australia. It’s using the campaign to respond to its own international isolation, recent Arab–Israeli rapprochement and more overt American support for Israel’s position, such as the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Gaza Transport Ministry Complains: Israel Won’t Give Us More Tires

editor 16 April 2018

By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz.. “Woe to the wicked man, for he shall fare ill; As his hands have dealt, so shall it be done to him.” Isaiah 3:11. Just two days after Palestinians burned thousands of tires on the Israeli border with Gaza in violent protests, a spokesman for the Palestinian Transport Ministry complained of a shortage of tires, demanding that Israel supply more. As part of the Hamas-led ‘March of Return’ protest, Gazans answered calls on social media to burn 10,000 tires on Friday in an attempt to obscure the vision of IDF troops preventing infiltrators from crossing the security fence separating Israel from Gaza. Checkmating the smart Abbas

editor 31 March 2018

By Caroline Glick.. PLO chief and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is no idiot. He didn’t survive as Yasser Arafat’s deputy for 40 years and as his successor for 14 by being stupid. So if he isn’t stupid, why is he attacking the United States? Why did he deliver an anti-American diatribe Monday night (March 19, 2018) that would have made Ho Chi Minh proud? Not only did Abbas call US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman a “son of a dog.” He blamed the US for all the woes of the Arab world. (more…)
