Everlasting Covenants
The Covenants are to be taken literally as contracts between two parties. These Covenants are eternal, everlasting agreements with Israel that will therefore exist ‘forever’. God cannot change His mind halfway about them. All these Covenants are covered by a solemn oath, which the Lord Almighty swore by His own Name at the making of these Covenants with Israel. The Abrahamic Covenant
Genesis 17:7, 13, 19: “…’I will establish My covenant as an everlasting Covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. “…Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My Covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting Covenant.’ “…Then God said, ‘Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish My Covenant with him as an everlasting Covenant for his descendants after him’…”

The Covenant of the Promised Land of Israel
Chronicles 16:17-18: “…He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting Covenant. ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit’…” (Compare: Psalm 105:10). Leviticus 25:23: “The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is Mine and you are but aliens and My ”

The Levitical Covenant
Numbers 25:10-13: “…The LORD said to Moses, ‘Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned My anger away from the Israelites; for he was as zealous as I am for My honour among them, so that in My zeal I did not put an end to them. Therefore tell him I am making My Covenant of peace with him. He and his descendants will have a covenant of a lasting priesthood, be- cause he was zealous for the honour of his God and made atonement for the Israelites’…”

Jeremiah 33:19-23: “…The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: ‘This is what the LORD says: If you can break My Covenant with the day and My Covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time, then My Covenant with David My servant – and My Covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before Me – can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. I will make the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister before Me as countless as the stars of the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore’…” (Compare Malachi 2:1-9, where the LORD is urging the priests to behave properly, but He is not setting aside His everlasting Covenant because of their behaviour. Because of a future and final Temple to come, where priest will do service again).

The Davidic Covenant
Samuel 23:5: “…Is not my house right with God? Has He not made with me an everlasting Covenant, arranged and secured in every part?…” 1 Chronicles 17:11-14: “…When your days are over and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for Me, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be My I will never take My love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor.   I will set him over My house and My Kingdom forever; his throne will be established forever…” (Compare: Psalm 89:19-29; Isaiah 55:3; Ezekiel 37:24-25).

The New Covenant
Jeremiah 31:31-34: “…’The time is coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will make a New Covenant with the House of Israel and with the House of Judah. It will not be like the everlasting Covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt (the Covenant of the Law), because they broke My Covenant, though I was a husband to them,’ declares the LORD. ‘This is the Covenant I will make with the House of Israel after that time,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbour, or a man his brother, saying, “Know the LORD,” because they will all know Me, from the least   of them to the greatest,’ declares the LORD. ‘For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more’…” (Compare: Isaiah 61:7-9; Jeremiah 50:5; Hebrews 13:20).

Jeremiah 32: 37-41: “…I will surely gather them from all the lands where I banish them in My furious anger and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety. They will be My people, and I will be their God. I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear Me for their own good and the good of their children after them. I will make an everlasting Covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear Me, so that they will never turn away from Me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all My heart and soul…”

We read a lot about the (sinful) heart and soul of man in the Bible, but this is as far as I know the only place in Scripture that talks about the heart and soul of God. So God is all excited about bringing the Jewish people back to the Promised Land!
