Erdogan: ‘Zionism is a crime against humanity’

editor 14 March 2013

By WJC.. Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday (February 27, 2013) described Zionism as a “crime against humanity” equal to anti-Semitism, fascism and Islamophobia. In remarks to an Alliance of Civilizations event of the United Nations held in Vienna and devoted to dialogue between the West and Islam, Erdogan lamented growing racism in Europe and the fact that many Muslims “who live in countries other than their own” often faced harsh discrimination.

WJC ANALYSIS – The Palestinians and the Syrian conflict

editor 3 January 2013

By Pinhas Inbary.. A growing number of signs point to the fact that rival factions in Syria are ready for an agreement, including the regime of Bashar al-Assad. While it is too early to tell if these efforts will bear fruit, the mere recognition of the need for an agreement has implications on Syria and its neighbors in the Middle East, notably the Palestinians. Anti-Semetism continues to grow worldwide

editor 24 October 2012

By Ryan Jones.. Various recent studies, including one by the US State Department, have noted a marked increase in anti-Semitism worldwide over the past several years. A casual look at the news reveals this problem is very real, and very likely to escalate.

The Swedish city of Malmo has been one flashpoint, with its sizeable Jewish community coming under repeated attack recently. The incidents reached such a crescendo that last week hundreds of Swedes held a march in solidarity with their Jewish neighbors. Unfortunately, the supposedly sympathetic response of Malmo Mayor Ilmar Reepalu was no less anti-Semitic. Reepalu suggested that as a strategy to lessen the attacks, local Jews should publicly reject Zionism, that millennia-old hope of all Jews to one day return to their ancestral and biblical homeland. Kairos USA’s Scapegoat for Palestinian Suffering

editor 28 June 2012

By Dexter van Zile. Another group of Christian peacemakers has issued yet another statement about the Arab-Israeli conflict. The authors of this document state their goal is to “respond faithfully and boldly to the situation in Israel and Palestine.” Apparently in the lexicon of the folks who wrote this document – a group that calls itself “Kairos USA” – “situation” is another word for “conflict” or “war” and “responding faithfully and boldly” means focusing the eye of Christian judgment on Israel and its alleged sins like the Eye of Sauron looking for the holder of the One Ring on the slopes of Mount Doom. The Church at Christ’s Checkpoint

editor 25 April 2012

Dr. Paul Wilkinson, of Hazal Grove Full Gospel Church in the UK, has published an important report on his attendance at the second ‘Christ at the Checkpoint’ Conference in Bethlehem in March 2012. The report analyses the conference - the organizers, the participants, the speakers and the presentations. He concludes that “by revising Middle Eastern history and spiritualising God’s prophetic Word, ‘Christ at the Checkpoint’ speakers are guilty of propagating a theological or spiritual form of anti-Semitism which is damaging the Church, demonizing Israel, and dishonouring the integrity and Name of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
