Notable was the charge of the Australian 4th Light Horse Brigade, which covered some 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) to overrun and capture the last remaining Ottoman trenches, and secure the surviving wells at Beersheba. During the ‘Berlinale 2010’ film director Yael Hersonski (Israel 1976) presented her eighty-nine minute documentary film ‘Shtikat Haarchion’ (Literally ‘Secret Archive’) or the English title ‘A Film Unfinished’. This documentary film investigates the production of an unfinished Nazi propaganda film from 1942, about the Warsaw ghetto. The film was shot two months before the mass deportation and extermination of the Jews from the ghetto (Grossaktion Warsaw) started on July 22, 1942. (more…)

On 25 June 2006, then-Corporal Gilad Shalit was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from within Israeli territory and taken to the Gaza Strip. The kidnapping was part of an unprovoked attack which involved seven armed terrorists using a tunnel dug under the Israel-Gaza border. Gilad was 19 at the time of his abduction. (more…)

There is a lot of publicity at the moment about Israel’s alleged mistreatment of the Palestinian population in Gaza. It is claimed that Palestinians are being ”massacred”, and that Israel is guilty of “genocide”. Some pro-Palestinian activists even compare this with Nazis’ treatment of the Jews in WWII. Pictures are circulated via email chains showing Palestinian women and children side by side with pictures of Jews in concentration camps. (more…)
