Palestinians: If You Do Not Give Us Everything, We Cannot Trust You

editor 23 November 2017

By Bassam Tawil.. The Palestinians have made up their mind: The Trump peace plan is bad for us and we will not accept it. The plan is bad because it does not force Israel to give the Palestinians everything. If and when the Trump administration makes public its peace plan, the Palestinians will be the first to reject it, simply because it does not meet all their demands. Trump will soon learn that for Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinians, 99% is just not enough. Trump Joins Up The Dots

editor 27 May 2017

By Melanie Phillips.. Now it becomes clear why President Trump selected as the destinations of his current tour Riyadh, Jerusalem and Rome. He is re-setting the foreign policy debate around the factor which is both fundamental and at the same time systematically ignored. He is reframing it as a conflict over religion. (more…)

Yair Lapid: Israel not the problem in negotiations

editor 21 May 2017

By Fox News.. Yair Lapid, chairman of the Israeli opposition Yesh Atid Party, said Sunday (May 14, 2017), “Israel has been looking for an opportunity to separate from the Palestinians for years and years now. We have offered three times to the Palestinians more than 90% of the territories in order for them to build a country of their own, and three times they refused. So we are not the problem. The Palestinians are the problem. And we are willing to negotiate with no preconditions, and we are willing to talk, and we are willing to push forward for any kind of peace agreement with the Palestinians. We have never been the problem.” (more…)

Trump’s tragic mistake

editor 11 May 2017

By Caroline Glick.. By all accounts, US President Donald Trump is a friend of the Jewish state.

It is due to Trump’s heartfelt support for Israel and the US-Israel alliance that his meeting Wednesday with PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas at the White House is most discouraging. By meeting with Abbas, and committing himself to working toward achieving a peace deal between Abbas and his PLO and Israel, Trump undermines Israel. (more…)

A very big deal to solve a very big problem

editor 3 March 2017

By Einat Wilf and Adi Schwartz.. President Donald Trump, as expressed in the press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, now aspires in the Middle East to “a much bigger deal”, “a much more important deal”, one that “would take in many, many countries” and “would cover a very large territory.” This kind of regional deal between the Arab world – and perhaps, the entire Muslim world – and the Jewish State of Israel was always the only deal to be had: a very big deal to solve a very big problem. The U.S.-Israel economic bond

editor 28 February 2017

By Jon Medved.. Much of the talk around President Trump’s meeting this week with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House surrounds the political and security relationship between the two countries. That is important. But it is only part of the story. Despite having a tiny population of eight million people, Israel is playing a crucial role in helping to power the U.S. economy for the next generation. (more…)

How to get to two states: Netanyahu shines a bright light on the obstacles to a lasting peace

editor 25 February 2017

By New York Daily News.. Setting aside a perplexing remark by President Trump, he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a strong and important show of unity at the White House Wednesday (February 15, 2017). Bad news first: Trump’s apparent ignorance of the two-state solution, which for very good reason has been the basis for Mideast peace negotiations for decades. “I’m looking at two states and one state. I like the one that both parties like.” (more…)
