Why End Times? (19) – Chapter 2 – Eschatological Science Fiction

editor 23 March 2017

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book Why End Times? Chapter 2 – Eschatological Science Fiction

The first trumpet
When the first angel blows his trumpet, hail and fire come forth, mixed with blood. On the earth a third of the earth burns, together with a third of all trees and all the green grass. Natural scientists have actually compared the trumpet judgements with the development of a worldwide nuclear war, whereby all the modern weapon systems are to be used successively, with the result that each one brings on the next as it were – a chain reaction of violence. Why End Times? (18) – Chapter 2 – Eschatological Science Fiction

editor 20 March 2017

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book Why End Times? Chapter 2 – Eschatological Science Fiction

Martyrs
The martyrs are seen under the fifth seal. These martyrs have been slain because of the Word of God and the testimony they maintained. The ennobling of man and the persecution of believers always go hand in hand. Man wants to be like God, insist on his own rights, not bothering about Gods’ rights. He sets up his own realm by the use of force – his own New Age, his own New World Order in the name of man: the ‘city of man’. (more…)

SEVENTY NATIONS

editor 16 January 2017

By Rev Willem J.J.  Glashouwer.. Those who have followed the developments in the Middle East year after year will not have missed that in November 2012, the General Assembly – voting by a large majority (139 in favour to 9 against with 41 abstentions) – accorded Palestine ‘non-Member Observer State status’ in the United Nations. Since then, pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel resolutions follow each other in quick succession. (more…)

Why End Times? (3) – Chapter 1 – Why End Times?

editor 12 January 2017

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book Why End Times? Chapter 1 – Why End Times?

The Restrainer
However, before this evil is able to break through without restraint, the ‘one who is holding it back’ must first be removed, says Paul. There is therefore something or someone who is still preventing the coming of THE antichrist; a restraining force, a Re- strainer. This will not continue to be the case. At a given moment the ‘one who is holding back’ evil will be removed and evil will be able to break through without restraint and THE antichrist will appear on the world scene to rule in full control. Jerusalem, the UN and the times of the Gentiles

editor 12 January 2017

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. When we see what is happening in the UN at the moment, we are reminded of what our Lord said about Jerusalem. Jesus spoke a lot about Jerusalem, and what would happen to Jerusalem in the future. He said “Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled”. This has something to do with His coming again, at the end of the age. Is that the time we are living in?   (more…)

Why End Times? (2) – Chapter 1 – Why End Times?

editor 10 January 2017

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book Why End Times? Chapter 1 – Why End Times?

The final hour
We have therefore been living for over 2000 years in ‘the Last Days’, in the End Times. These last days will also have a last day. And that last day will also have a last or final hour. The hands of the clock of history stand at 5 minutes to 12 – almost midnight. John speaks about that last and final hour in his first letter, 1 John 2:18: “…Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. Foreword
For many years I have been teaching, preaching and speaking about Israel and God’s everlasting relationship with His people and His land. About the everlasting Covenants He made with them. Covenants and promises for which He pledged a solemn oath. And God will never break an oath. He is a reliable God, keeping His Covenant of love for a thousand generations. He does not change His mind halfway. His YES is YES and all the rest is of the evil one. (more…)

Jerusalem and the Temple Mount

editor 17 November 2016

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. Jerusalem and the Temple Mount
“…But you will cross the Jordan and settle in the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and He will give you rest from all your enemies around you so that you live in safety. Then to the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His name – there you shall bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and the special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the LORD. And there rejoice before the LORD your God, you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants…” (Deuteronomy 12:10-12). (more…)

Why Jerusalem? (69) – Chapter 8 – Jerusalem and the allegory of Galatians 4

editor 3 November 2016

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. From the book Why Jerusalem? Chapter 8 – Jerusalem and the allegory of Galatians 4

Blessings and Covenants
God promised blessings for Ishmael, but His everlasting Covenant with Abraham, later confirmed to Isaac and Jacob. The problem in the Middle East is not one of ethnicity, because there are great blessings for the Arabs, being descendants of Ishmael. The crux is that the Arabs, including Palestinians, are almost totally dominated by Islam. They serve Allah, like so many other peoples and nations in Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the former USSR-republics and half of Africa. (more…)

New Biblical Theology

editor 2 September 2016

By Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer.. In 1948 ‘Replacement Theology’ and its variation ’Fulfilment Theology’ suddenly collapsed because of the establishment of the State of Israel. After a process of more than a 100 years of ‘Zionism’- which is not a political movement but a stirring of the Jewish hearts by the God of Israel for His people to return to Zion, a deep longing in the hearts of the Jewish people to go back to the Promised Land, to Jerusalem – many prophecies of the Bible were visibly being fulfilled. So apparently the Church had not replaced Israel. (more…)
