Focus on the Future (Series 3 / Episode 3)

editor 1 May 2013

By Rev Willem Glashouwer.. The prophecies in the Bible are like slides. They contain a lot of details and show what the future will look like. Led by the Holy Spirit, the prophets described them to us. These prophetic slides do not present a road map. There is only one order of events in the Bible and that is Matthew 24. When the disciples ask: “Lord, how will we know that You come back in Glory?” Jesus starts telling about these events. (more…)

Focus on the Future (Series 3 / Episode 2)

editor 24 April 2013

By Rev Willem Glashouwer.. When people try to look at the future they read the Bible and rightly so! Because the Bible is the only holy Book of any religion that contains prophecy. And prophecy is history written in advance, clear, with a lot of details. Simply describing all kinds of events that are happening and will happen in the future. Now some people try to put these future events in a kind of prophetic roadmap, a kind of timetable. Is that the right thing to do? (more…)

Settling the Land?

editor 3 January 2013

By Lonnie C. Mings.. If Israelis—be they “settlers” in the usual sense or not—build their homes in territory that does not fall within the area allotted to Israel in the 1947 UN partition of “Palestine,” they are judged by the world to be illegally occupying someone else’s land. The settlers, on the other hand, believing they were enabled by the grace of God to return to their erstwhile homeland, feel they have a biblical mandate to cover the land with their homes and institutions. In response, the world cries “foul!” (more…)

The voice in the wilderness (audio teaching)

editor 19 December 2012

By Rev Willem Glashouwer.. The United Nations General Assembly decided on the 29th November 2012 to recognize the PLO as representative of the Palestinian people, and to grant non-member observer status to Palestine. This comes very close to recognizing the statehood of Palestine. When you look at that from a Biblical perspective you understand that this more and more invokes the judgment of God upon the nations. Lance Lambert’s Middle East Update, October 2012

editor 12 December 2012

This is Lance Lambert speaking, and this is my Update for October 2012. The Jewish year of 5772, or the Roman year of 2012,has been a very difficult year. Israel has lived, during that time in an almost continuous atmosphere of war predictions—the predicted war, always being rescheduled. The latest prediction was for the end of Sukkot, and the American Election on November the 6 th. This has now been rescheduled for spring of 2013, after Israel’s election. (more…)

Focus on the future (12-12)

Rev. Willem Glashouwer 9 November 2012

What will the future hold? To really know what the future will bring for you and for me, we have to turn to the Bible. It is the only book that clearly shows what will happen in the future. Sometimes very specifically. Like for instance the prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39. The prophecy is about Gog of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and this is what the sovereign Lord says to Gog. (more…)

Israel-Church Differences

editor 8 November 2012

By Dr. Andy Woods.. One of the rules of basic Bible interpretation is to recognize that the church and Israel represent separate programs of God. They are two trains running on separate railroad tracks. Theologian and founder of Dallas Theological Seminary, Lewis Sperry Chafer, noted twenty-four differences between Israel and the church. [1] Here are a few. (more…)

Focus on the future (4-12)

Rev. Willem Glashouwer 19 September 2012

We can only know what the future will hold, for you and me and the nations of this world, if we know the One that holds the future. Almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth. And He has told us what the future will hold in this beautiful book, the Bible. With all the prophecies that are in it. Maybe you say that you are not interested in the future. “I am more interested in what will happen with me. Tomorrow, how I will find a job, what I will eat or whatever. My personal problems and my personal future.” Well, your personal future is in the Bible as well. Because, one day you will die. And where will you go? (more…)

Focus on the future (1-12)

Rev. Willem Glashouwer 30 August 2012

People are living their lives and are concerned about their plans and the things they encounter in everyday life. But the future is coming towards us and in order to be prepaired for it we really should look at the prophecies of the Bible. Because the Bible is the only book that really speaks very clearly about the things that happen in the future. Jesus speaks of the signs of the times in Matthew 24. (more…)
