Union threatened Palestinian artists with expulsion if they engaged in “normalization” with Israel

editor 18 October 2017

By Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik.. Palestinians reject “normalization” with Israel:
Palestinian artists warned  they would be “expelled” from union if they participated in Israeli cultural festival in Jerusalem. “The union rejects the participation of any Palestinian artist in the rally, and it will expel any artist who is proven to have participated in any ceremony or festival whose goal is to create normalization with the occupation”. How Palestine “Occupies” Itself

editor 14 October 2017

By Dr. Asaf Romirowski.. BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 606, October 7, 2017

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: “Occupation” has become an all-purpose Palestinian tool. On the one hand, the Palestinians claim the Israeli “occupation” makes serious negotiations with Israel impossible. On the other, they claim the “occupation” makes the development of local institutions and civil society impossible. Western and Israeli diplomats have largely avoided criticism of this strategy, possibly because it has become a central tenet of Palestinian identity. The Hen-House Votes For The Fox

editor 12 October 2017

By Melanie Phillips.. Interpol, the world’s largest international police organisation, today (September 27, 2017) accepted the “State of Palestine” as a full member. The Palestinians’ membership bid was accepted with 75 countries voting yes, 24 voting no, and 34 abstaining. The Times of Israel reports: “Israel fiercely objected to the Palestinians joining Interpol, arguing that Ramallah’s alleged support for terrorism could hinder rather than aid Interpol’s efforts.” (more…)

Hamas seeking to take over the Palestinian Authority

editor 5 October 2017

Yaakov Lappin/ The recent terror attack that killed three Israelis in Har Adar is a reminder of the fragile security situation across Israel, Judea and Samaria (the territories), and Gaza.  Most of the time, the situation looks calm. But hidden from view is the titanic struggle raging 24 hours a day between Israel’s security forces and Palestinian terrorists. The latter are working relentlessly to try to commit atrocities. The Palestinians’ “Jewish Problem”

editor 27 September 2017

By Bassam Tawil.. According to the Palestinians, the two US envoys seem fully to have endorsed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s positions instead of representing the interests of the US. Why? Because they are Jews, and as such, their loyalty is to Israel before the US. Perhaps this view is a projection of what many Muslims would do if the circumstances were reversed. (more…)

Preparing for the post-Abbas era

editor 5 September 2017

By Caroline Glick.. PLO chief and Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas scored a victory against Israel at the Temple Mount. But it was a Pyrrhic one. Days after the government bowed to his demand and voted to remove the metal detectors from the Temple Mount, Abbas checked into the hospital for tests. The 82-year-old dictator has heart disease and a series of other serious health issues. And he has refused to appoint a successor. (more…)

UNESCO is opening a new front in the war against religious diversity in the Middle East

editor 27 July 2017

By Jonathan Rabinovitch.. The World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) passed a motion on July 7, 2017 declaring the Old City of Hebron to a Palestinian World Heritage Site in Danger. This new narrative, now enshrined by UNESCO, is both historically inaccurate and contrary to lived reality. And yet these facts and the dangerous implications of such a move seem to elude the member bodies of the committee. [Photo top right: Unesco logo from Wikipedia Commons](more…)

The Day of Deranged Inversion

editor 20 July 2017

By Melanie Phillips.. Fatah, headed by Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas, has called for a “day of rage” tomorrow (i.e. Thursday July 20, 2017). This is ostensibly to protest against the metal detectors which the Israeli government has installed at Temple Mount in Jerusalem. That was in response to last Sunday’s (July 16, 2017) attack there by two Israeli Arabs. Already armed, they burst from the compound and murdered two Israeli Druze police officers, leaving a third officer injured. (more…)

Interrogation of Palestinian terrorist proves: PA payments motivate terror

editor 19 July 2017

By Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik.. Palestinian terrorist: “I’ve accumulated large debts… if my son wants a shekel, I have nothing to give him… I decided to do something serious, such as committing murder, something in which I will both kill and die, and then my family will get money (i.e., from the PA) and will live comfortably… If I’m not able to kill soldiers, I’ll try settlers, guards – in other words any Israeli target – the important thing is that I will die and they will kill me, so that my children will receive a [PA] allowance and live happily”. [From transcript of Israeli Police interrogation of Palestinian terrorist].  (more…)

Abbas vows never to stop salaries to terrorists, even if it will cost him the PA presidency

editor 8 July 2017

ByNan Jacques Zilberdik.. Even if it might cost him his presidency, Abbas has pledged he won’t stop paying salaries to imprisoned terrorists and the families of the so-called “Martyrs.” According to his own Fatah Movement, Abbas has made the following statement, vowing to continue honoring terrorists and murderers with monetary rewards no matter what: (more…)
