UNESCO is opening a new front in the war against religious diversity in the Middle East

editor 27 July 2017

By Jonathan Rabinovitch.. The World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) passed a motion on July 7, 2017 declaring the Old City of Hebron to a Palestinian World Heritage Site in Danger. This new narrative, now enshrined by UNESCO, is both historically inaccurate and contrary to lived reality. And yet these facts and the dangerous implications of such a move seem to elude the member bodies of the committee. [Photo top right: Unesco logo from Wikipedia Commons](more…)

The Day of Deranged Inversion

editor 20 July 2017

By Melanie Phillips.. Fatah, headed by Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas, has called for a “day of rage” tomorrow (i.e. Thursday July 20, 2017). This is ostensibly to protest against the metal detectors which the Israeli government has installed at Temple Mount in Jerusalem. That was in response to last Sunday’s (July 16, 2017) attack there by two Israeli Arabs. Already armed, they burst from the compound and murdered two Israeli Druze police officers, leaving a third officer injured. (more…)

Interrogation of Palestinian terrorist proves: PA payments motivate terror

editor 19 July 2017

By Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik.. Palestinian terrorist: “I’ve accumulated large debts… if my son wants a shekel, I have nothing to give him… I decided to do something serious, such as committing murder, something in which I will both kill and die, and then my family will get money (i.e., from the PA) and will live comfortably… If I’m not able to kill soldiers, I’ll try settlers, guards – in other words any Israeli target – the important thing is that I will die and they will kill me, so that my children will receive a [PA] allowance and live happily”. [From transcript of Israeli Police interrogation of Palestinian terrorist].  (more…)

The Ongoing Drama of Palestinian Lies

editor 30 June 2017

By Bassam Tawil.. The current policy of the PA leadership is to avoid alienating the Trump administration by continuing to pretend that Abbas and his cronies are serious about achieving peace with Israel. This is why Abbas’s representatives are careful not to criticize Trump or his envoys. When Israel does not comply with their list of demands, the Palestinians will accuse it of “destroying” the peace process. (more…)

Danon calls on UNSC to take action against PA’s Payments to Terrorists

editor 17 May 2017

By Danielle Ziri.. “It is absurd to condemn terror, while at the same time paying terrorists.” NEW YORK – Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon asked the UN Security Council on Thursday (May 11, 2017) to “take action” and call on the Palestinian Authority to stop paying terrorists for killing civilians in Israel. “In 2016, the PA dedicated almost $130 million of its budget to paying imprisoned terrorists,” he said during a short press conference. “They spent another $175 million in allowances to the families of so-called martyrs. Trump’s tragic mistake

editor 11 May 2017

By Caroline Glick.. By all accounts, US President Donald Trump is a friend of the Jewish state.

It is due to Trump’s heartfelt support for Israel and the US-Israel alliance that his meeting Wednesday with PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas at the White House is most discouraging. By meeting with Abbas, and committing himself to working toward achieving a peace deal between Abbas and his PLO and Israel, Trump undermines Israel. (more…)

The lessons of the Arab summit

editor 10 April 2017

By Zalman Shoval.. During the 28th Arab League summit in Jordan that ended over the weekend (March 29, 2017), host King Abdullah of Jordan said that there would be no regional stability without solving the Palestinian issue, defining Israel as an obstacle to peace. While the king probably knows better than many others what the real reasons for regional instability are, mostly as they affect his own country, at the end of the day the “Arab League” is not particularly significant, nor does it wield executive authority, for better or worse. editor 5 April 2017

By David Brog.. Why don’t the Palestinians have their own country? Is it the fault of Israel? Of the Palestinians? Of both parties? David Brog, Executive Director of the Maccabee Task Force, shares the surprising answers.  If Israel just gave in to the Arab demands, what would happen? We know exactly what would happen. How? Why Don’t Supporters of Palestinians Care About PA Abuses?

editor 3 April 2017

By Mitchell Bard..On college campuses and beyond, support for the Palestinians has been portrayed as a human rights campaign. While the antisemitic BDS movement is — according to its founders and leaders — a crusade to make Israel disappear, it has attracted many naïve supporters who believe ostracizing Israel will somehow help the Palestinians achieve independence. BDS has been an unmitigated failure, but it has shielded the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Hamas from criticism for their human rights abuses. (more…)
