Christ became a servant of the Jews, so that the Gentiles may glorify God

Andrew Tucker 21 December 2011

As we Christians celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ in the coming days, let us remember that Jesus came “as a servant of the circumcision [i.e. the Jewish nation], on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy” (Romans 15:8). We Gentile believers need to remind ourselves that we owe our faith, our salvation, our calling and our hope to the Jewish people. Abraham was called so that all nations would be blessed. Their fall enabled the reconciliation of the world. And their restoration will bring life from the dead (Romans 11). (more…)

Lance Lambert Audio: The Spirit of God and Israel (1990)

editor 26 October 2011

By Lance Lambert.. Many Bible scholars claim the restoration of Israel has nothing to do with the Spirit of God. Lace expounds from Zechariah 12 and 14 shows the literal coming of the Messiah to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. It is a burden of the Word of the Lord concerning Israel… therefore we must sit up and listen to it. (more…)

Lance Lambert audio: The Fulfilling of The Times of the Gentiles (1987)

editor 10 October 2011

Lance helps us to understand first what the title of this message denotes. Secondly, if we can honestly and genuinely say that the times of the Gentiles have been fulfilled, and thirdly to learn if they have been fulfilled what is the significance of that fulfillment for us, it’s challenge and significance. Lance Lambert audio: Touching God’s Throne for Israel (1984)

editor 24 September 2011

Lance believes that providing we do all things necessary, prayer and intercession is the most vital work we can be engaged in as far as Israel is concerned. It is in the prayer meeting that we touch the throne room of God and where we need to be situated for God’s purpose for Israel to be fulfilled. (more…)

The Two Advents of the Messiah (Part 3)

editor 7 September 2011

Part 3: The Predictions of the Prophets of Israel , by Rinaldo Diprose.. We have seen that the NT recognizes two distinct interpretative horizons in relation to the messianic expectations witnessed to in the Tanak, that is to say two advents of the Messiah, one which has already happened and one which is expected to happen in the future.[1] However in order to be considered valid, these two interpretative horizons need to find some correspondence in what the prophets of Israel had affirmed concerning messianic times.

The Two Advents of the Messiah (Part 2)

editor 31 August 2011

Part 2: The Literature of the New Covenant, by Rinaldo Diprose.. Perhaps it would be helpful to devote a few words to describing the nature of this literature and its relationship to Israel’s Holy Scriptures. Anyone not personally acquainted with the Literature of the New Covenant might be surprised to know just how Jewish it is, even though all autograph copies of all twenty-seven books of which this corpus is composed were, so far as we know, written in Greek, the common language of the world in which the events described took place.

The Two Advents of the Messiah (Part 1)

editor 24 August 2011

Part 1: Introduction, by Rinaldo Diprose..[1] I believe that many misunderstandings concerning messianic times are overcome by keeping in focus the two advents of the Messiah which feature in some of the Sacred Writings of Israel and in the Literature of the New Covenant. When one or the other of these two interpretative horizons is neglected what remains cannot embrace all of the Messianic expectations to which the Tanak[2] bears witness.

Willem Glashouwer 27 June 2010

God loves Israel and calles Israel His firstborn son. Can God reject His son? Did Israel lose His status as God’s son because of its disobedience? If so, what does that mean for us when we are disobedient to God? (more…)
