An Idiot’s Guide for the Media on How to Do Your Job Properly

editor 6 November 2015

By Noah Beck.. A new instructive video shows what news reports would look like if they applied their outrageous Israel-reporting techniques to terrorist attacks in the rest of the world. In the hope of lessening the egregious anti-Israel bias, here are some pointers to members of the media:

1) Your job is to report facts, not reinforce a narrative. Really. The facts matter – they form the basis for judgments. So here are some facts for you, meticulously documented and updated (with details and graphs worthy of a data scientist) in a shared Google spreadsheet by Nehemia Gershuni-Aylho. (more…)

Palestinian Human Rights Activist: Media ‘Full of Antisemitism, Hatred for Israel’

editor 5 November 2015

By Shiryn Ghermezian.. A prominent Palestinian human rights activist lamented on Monday night (November 2, 2015) what he called the media’s unfair treatment of the Jewish state. At a pro-Israel gathering hosted by advocacy group StandWithUs in New York City, Bassem Eid, a Jerusalemite, said the press, which is “full of antisemitism” and “hatred,” is “much more interested in fighting against Israel” than discovering the truth. So, he added, “Let us [Palestinians] tell the world what we are really suffering from.” (more…)

editor 16 January 2014

By WJC.. NEW YORK – The World Jewish Congress, United States (WJC-US) today condemned the Modern Language Association (MLA) Delegate Assembly for adopting a one-sided and biased resolution blaming Israel for its “denials of entry to the West Bank by US academics who have been invited to teach, confer, or do research at Palestinian universities.” (more…)

20 Years of Research Reveals: Jerusalem Belongs to Jews (with video)

editor 9 January 2014

By Hillel Fendel.. Jacques Gauthier, a non-Jewish Canadian lawyer who spent 20 years researching the legal status of Jerusalem, has concluded: “Jerusalem belongs to the Jews, by international law.” Gauthier has written a doctoral dissertation on the topic of Jerusalem and its legal history, based on international treaties and resolutions of the past 90 years.  The dissertation runs some 1,300 pages, with 3,000 footnotes.  Gauthier had to present his thesis to a world-famous Jewish historian and two leading international lawyers – the Jewish one of whom has represented the Palestinian Authority on numerous occasions.

This article was first published on January 27, 2008 by Arutz Sheva and especially in the light of the present situation it is still relevant and important today. That is why it is posted again. (ed.)  (more…)

Israel and the Creation of Myths

editor 14 December 2013

By David Shayne.. This week (November 29, 2013) marks the 66thanniversary of one of the more celebrated events in modern Jewish history:  The United Nations General Assembly decision to partition the British Mandate of Palestine into two independent states – one Jewish and the other Arab, adopted Nov. 29, 1947.

The Arab world with one voice bitterly condemned what was called “the Partition Plan” and threatened to destroy the Jewish State if it was declared. (more…)

Dutch FM: Europe judges Israel by a different standard than other Middle East countries

editor 11 December 2013

By Herb Keinon.. Frans Timmermans says double standard is caused by Europe viewing Israel as a European country.  Europe judges Israel by a different standard than other countries in the region because it is seen as a “European country” that should be judged by European standards, Dutch Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans said Monday. Amnesty International’s Gaza electricity libel

editor 6 December 2013
By Ahron Shapiro.. In a follow up to AIJAC’s senior policy analyst Sharyn Mittelman’s November 22 report on Gaza’s self-inflicted fuel shortage, we look at NGO Amnesty International’s press release on the situation from Sunday, a remarkable document so far removed from factual accuracy that it can best be described as a work of fiction. Watchmen from Jerusalem

editor 5 December 2013

By Chuck and Karen Cohen.. As Bible believers, it is amazing and frustrating to perceive what is happening in the world today while all the ‘wise and mighty’ act like fools. We see Satan trying to destroy Israel. We see the ascent of the humanistic spirit, crushing all foes in a post-Christian West, preparing the way for the ultimate Humanist, the Anti-Christ, Mr. ‘666’ = ‘Man-Man-Man’. And we see the Spirit of Islam’s lies blinding the West into thinking of it as a religion of peace. (more…)

Nobel Laureate: Bible is Key to Jewish Genius

editor 4 December 2013

By Aviel Scheider.. After two Israeli professors living in the US won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry this year, it begs the question: Why have Jews been so successful in this realm, despite their proportionately small population? Approximately 20 percent or 1 in 5 of Nobel Prize laureates are Jews, yet Jews make up less than 0.2 percent of the world’s population. Analyzing “the deal”: As Iran & White House claim victory, what will Israel & the Saudis do now?

editor 27 November 2013

By Joel C. Rosenberg.. (Washington, D.C.) —  The deal is done. The Iranian leaders are claiming victory. The White House is claiming victory. Most European governments, as well as Russia, are claiming victory.

The Israeli government, meanwhile, is horrified. They, and many of their citizens, feel more isolated than ever. As I reported from Jerusalem, this was true before the deal was struck. It is even more true now.

“One [Israeli] radio host on Sunday repeatedly played clips of President Obama, during his visit here in March, reassuring Israelis, in Hebrew, that ‘you are not alone,’ and then said ominously, ‘We are in fact alone,’” reported the New York Times.

Below, you’ll find a selection of key articles I’ve found helpful over the past 72 hours in understanding the deal and the reaction to it from various quarters. (more…)
