An Evil and a Sin to be removed?

In December 2009, leading Arab Christians released a document condemning the so-called ‘occupation’ of Palestinian territories, about which they spoke as “an evil and a sin to be removed”. That sounds impressive. Yet, would they be in a position to really make an objective assessment? I wonder. Christian Arabs are living in conditions of harassment. Life as a Christian in the Islamic space is not easy. Sympathy towards Israel turns someone in the eyes of the Arabs into a nasty collaborator of an utterly hostile nation. (more…)

 

Justice, the Palestinians and Israel – what is the answer?

I have just read the so-called Kairos document published on 11th December by several leading Arab Christians.  My first reaction on reading this document is one of sadness. On the one hand, sadness about the continuing, worsening, miserable conditions in which these Arabs are living. No one can or should deny that. (more…)
