Foreword
For many years I have been teaching, preaching and speaking about Israel and God’s everlasting relationship with His people and His land. About the everlasting Covenants He made with them. Covenants and promises for which He pledged a solemn oath. And God will never break an oath. He is a reliable God, keeping His Covenant of love for a thousand generations. He does not change His mind halfway. His YES is YES and all the rest is of the evil one. We already see the fulfilment of the promises He made to Israel brought to being before our very eyes. We see the people’s return to the Promised Land of Israel continue to take place – even as we write and read right now. And although the powers of darkness hate this and try to do everything to prevent God from achieving His goals – the coming of the Kingdom and the Coming of the King of the Kingdom – they will not succeed.

For centuries the Jews have been persecuted, especially in the lands of Christendom. But the Everlasting One, the Creator of heaven and earth, guarantees their continuing existence Himself (Jeremiah 31:35-36). Although millions of Jews over the centuries have been despised, persecuted, tortured and brutally murdered, there is, and always will be, a remnant kept by the grace of God.

The Lord made great promises to them. And whatever the Lord has promised to Israel He will do for Israel. Just as whatever He has promised to His Church, He will fulfil for His Church. But we should not make an unholy theological mix of the two, as has happened so many times in the history of the Church.

But the powers of darkness will continue to try to get the job done and kill them all. Cut their land in pieces. Cut Jerusalem in half. And much else. They know that the Angel Gabriel promised to His mother Mary that the holy child Jesus one-day would sit upon the throne of His father David (and that throne stood in Jerusalem where David was King over the 12 tribes of Israel), that He would rule over Jacob (the 12 tribes of Israel) and that of His Kingdom there would be no end.

God is involved in a restoration process. He restores His people Israel to the Promised Land. National restoration first, but to be followed by spiritual restoration. He restores the city of Jerusalem, so that it will be the city of the great King. He is preparing for the Kingdom to come. And the devil hates it.

Some months ago I woke in the middle of the night. My wife asked me: “what is it?” I said “the antichrist, the antichrist!” That night horror started this book. The End Times, Israel and Jerusalem are part of a much bigger picture. The End Times are developing very rapidly. Antichrist is coming. May this book help the Church to be prepared, and stand in the gap for Israel. As watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem. Until the great Day dawns, and He comes to make all things forever new.

Why End Times?
I believe Jesus expects us to understand the times that we are living in. He even reproaches us if we do not seem to understand the signs of the times. We do quite well in predicting the weather for tomor- row when we look at the colours of the sky today, but can we see the signs of the times? He says in Matthew 16:2-3 “…When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.”

In Matthew 24, Jesus sums up many of these ‘signs of the times’ so we can understand that the time of His Coming in Glory is at hand. Signs of the times that tell us that we have entered into the final days of this phase of world history, and that we are about to enter into the next phase. The Kingdom is coming! Many people say these are the last days. That we are living in the final days, and soon we will be entering into the final hour of the End Times!

But how can one know? When did these End Times start? What about the Day of the Lord? How did these End Times begin? The Bible teaches that the ‘End Times’ began when Jesus appeared on earth, when God’s Word became flesh, when the ‘Torah’ became flesh.

In verses 1-4 and 14 of the first chapter of the Gospel of John it says: “…In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only Son [or the Only Begotten Son], who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Galatians 4:4 says: “…But when the time had fully come [KJV: “But when the fullness of the time was come”] God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law [Torah].”

The end of days
Like John, the author of the Epistle to the Hebrews (probably Paul himself) opens his first chapter by saying that Almighty God did in- deed ‘create the world’ by the Word/Logos/Torah. And that Word became flesh and dwelt among us: Jesus the Son, born in Bethlehem. Paul says: “…In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven” (Hebrews 1:1-3).

In just five Bible verses the prophet Micah described – inspired by the Holy Spirit – God’s plan of salvation for Israel and the world. He talks of the Saviour/King to be born in Bethlehem (compare Mat- thew 2:1-12).

Micah 5:1-5a says: “…But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for Me One who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times [Jesus’ origin is of time immemorial, from ancient times, from the times of eternity!]. Therefore Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labour bears a son [the period between the Old and New Testament, from 400 BC until the birth of Jesus Christ from His Jewish mother Mary – whereas God was His Father] and the rest of His brothers return to join the Israelites. [This was fulfilled in our times with the return of the 10 tribes of Israel, together with the two tribes of Judah to the Promised Land of Israel. Judah was the tribe in which Christ was born, so they are ‘His brothers’]. He will stand and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD [This will be fulfilled by the Second Coming and the Coming of the Kingdom when He will be Lord of lords and King of kings, and Messiah of Israel] in the majesty of the Name of the LORD His God. And they [Israel] will live securely, for then His greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. And He will be our peace [or: the peace].” Who knows how soon that will be?!

In chapter 4:1-4, Micah foresees the glorious future of the Kingdom to come: “…In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s Temple will  be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the Temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.’ The Law will go out from Zion, the Word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He [the Messiah of Israel, Jesus Messiah/Christ] will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the LORD Almighty has spoken.”

Jesus, God’s One and Only Son – the strongest word Almighty God could speak, He spoke in the Son, in Jesus. In the original Greek text of the Epistle to the Hebrews 1:2, the definite article is actually omit- ted, so it reads: ‘in Son’: “…He has spoken to us ‘in Son’, whom He ap- pointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.” This is how the apostle Paul also speaks about Jesus’ intercessor- ship in creation in Colossians 1:15-20: “…The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the be- ginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his full- ness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.”

In past days, the Eternal God spoke to Israel, to the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and by/through the prophets in Israel. The books of the Old Testament contain these Words of God – from Adam to Noah, from Abraham to Moses right up to the last of the ‘minor’ prophets – from creation until 400 BC. After that, the so- called inter-testamental period started, during which there were no more Words of God spoken in Israel, as we read in Micah 5:1-4. But after these 400 years, God spoke again! His last and most significant Word He spoke in His Son. Jesus was born. The New Testament testifies to that. The most powerful word was spoken by God when His Word became flesh! And when He did that, when Jesus was born, the last days of this phase of world history really began.

Hebrews 1:1-3 says: “…In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by [or: in] His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also He made the universe.” This is when the ‘Last Days’ began and when the End Times set in. Hebrews 1:2: “…In these last days He has spoken to us by [in] His Son.” This speaking of God in the Torah-that-became-flesh in the Son, in the Word that be- came flesh, happened in the fullness of time, the Apostle Paul says in Galatians 4:4: “…But when the set time had fully come [or: “when the fullness of the time had come” KJV] God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law.” Born of the Virgin Mary, born under the law/Torah, born within the Covenant of the Law that the Lord had made with Israel through Moses on Mount Sinai (Exodus 19- 20). Born at the right time (in the Greek: πλήρωμα του χρόνουα- plèrooma tou chronou, in the ‘fullness of time’). The End Times commenced at that moment.
